This tutorial describes how to make an action. It's for a sepia action, but the steps involved are useful for any photoshop action.
Our action is done so now we need to try it out! I kept the same file open and used File > Revert to go back to my starting color image. Make sure our new action is highlighted in the Actions palette (click on it if it is not) and then click on the Play selection button.
