The Photography Retail Center of The Universe
Without question,
B&H Photo is the center of the universe for photography gear. Not much needs to be said about B&H that already hasn't been said, but here are a few things that I'll highlight:
On the web, by phone, or in-person, you will be treated well and served by knowledegable staff. You will get prices that are fair and honest. Your new item will be NEW not opened. Their shipping is fast. Returns? No questions asked, just be sure and get an RMA#.
There have been beefs and gripes out there on the forum sites about B&H. B&H takes your credit card transaction very seriously, and so don't be surprised if they'll do a verification. Overseas orders are handled with aplomb - but again, be aware that B&H have overseas bank and credit card rules that they must comply with. Don't be surprised if they ask for identification and / or other documents by FAX in some cases.
The coolest thing about B&H is that
Henry Posner is a regular contributor to the online forums, and he is always there to provide an answer, handle gripes, and more. I've never, ever seen B&H let down a customer. And in all my years of shopping there, they've never let me down, either.

If you can get to NYC, a trip to B&H is a must. You have to see it to believe it :) It's a whole city block long. Huge. Ginormous. Did I mention that it's big? If they don't have it there, you probably don't need it!
