Review by David Rosenthal
Written by Vincent Versace, this book shows you step by step how to create an "imagemap" of your photo. An imagemap describes the focus and lighting that you will employ in Photoshop to lead the viewer's eye purposefully through your shot. Using this imagemap, Versace shows you how to add depth and lighting that didn't exist in your original image, adding drama and interest.
Versace also shows how to harvest images to create a single image that's more powerful than the pieces, how to mimic classic studio lighting, and advanced Black and White conversion techniques.
From the introduction: "This book is about engaging in a conversation that will lead to teaching yourself to be able to make magic, starting at the point of capture...(it's) a book about exploring how to express your vision." Along the way you'll learn lots of specific techniques, but the magic of your vision is what comes first.
