I love
SmugMaps. Adding geographic data to your JPG images before uploading without the use of a GPS logger was always a bit cumbersome and time-consuming. Until now. Geotagger for the mac is the best thing since the invention of the wheel. It is fast, and very easy to use.
It works in combination with
Google Earth.
Make sure you have it in your dock, this is by far the easiest thing to do.
Start both Google Earth and geotagger. Geotagger does not have a separate window.
Go to the location that you took the photo and center that. Select the image (or images) and drag them onto the geotagger icon. The more you zoom in, the more accurate it will be.
That's it, you are done! The geodata will be added to your images.
Upload your image to your SmugMug gallery
After you have uploaded your photos, use the "map it" button to see the map. You can use the 'sattelite' view for actual images of the area.
You can also use the 'map' view to see a map with markers for your images.
